Blackmagic Design offers a wide range of products for building professional SMPTE-2110 IP video systems. These products include converters, video monitors, audio monitors, and cameras, all of which support Ultra HD using low cost 10G Ethernet. The converters are bidirectional, making them ideal for use on cameras when an extra program return is needed. The rack mount models feature an elegant design with a color LCD for monitoring, menus, and diagnostics. All models conform to the SMPTE ST-2110 standard for IP video, including PTP clocks and NMOS support for making connections using a video router panel. The Blackmagic 2110 IP Converter 3x3G model even includes a reference video output timed to the 2110 PTP clock.
Blackmagic 2110 IP Converters are designed to integrate SDI equipment into 2110 IP broadcast systems. They can be installed in equipment racks next to the equipment being converted. However, with Blackmagic Studio Cameras, Blackmagic Audio Monitor 12G G3, and the SmartView 4K G3, most of a SMPTE-2110 system can be built without converters. These products can also be remote powered. The converters provide a low cost way to transform all video equipment to SMPTE-2110, and support multicast for efficient distribution of video, audio, and data. They use simple 10G Ethernet with RJ-45 connectors or SFP sockets for optical fiber modules and cables. Installation is incredibly easy, as the converters can connect point to point with a simple Ethernet cable, or can be connected through an Ethernet switch for larger systems. Blackmagic 2110 IP products also support the NMOS protocol for increased flexibility.
